Great little radio
I called walcott to ask a few questions about this radio. I talked to Blain and he was very helpful and answered all my questions. I ordered the radio and within 3 days it was in my truck. Thank you Blain for all your help. I will be back for all my cb radio needs. The radio is great, it is packed with features. You really get a lot for the money with the President Richard.

Best "Bang" For The Money!!
Drove big rigs for 6yrs and been on CB since i was 11yrs old. Had many radios, but this one doesn't need any "Fire In The Wire"! This runs just fine "Barefoot" and can plug into a 12v plug with no issues. All the bells and whistles and love the classic configuration of a real radio without the "1960s Touch". Get the Walcott Peak Package and never look back! Great work, super pleased and Walcott is now my go to for any quality radio work i need! Thanks Walcott Radio

Perfect radio for cheap! Good power, good echo, doesn’t draw so much power you have to run wires. The binding posts in a truck will handle this fine just put in a little bigger fuse. Unlike the other review the swr function on mine was very accurate

Compact Full Featured Traditional Layout
I like the traditional look of the face, with controls in familiar CB-type locations. The knobs are spaced enough that my ham fists can operate easily. I like DIN sized radios, and President makes an in-dash kit for these which would make for a particularly elegant installation.
I am getting good reports, and the audio is also crisp and unusually intelligible. I like how this 10 meter radio can be operated just like an ordinary CB, but a rich feature set can be accessed with a long press of the channel knob.
The analog meter attracted me to the radio, but unfortunately, it does not dim with the rest of the lights. It is outstanding for readability in daylight, but not ideal for night driving. I am now using a Galaxy in my work truck because I am so sensitive to extraneous lights while driving at night. I can make the Galaxy dimmer than the lowest setting of my dash lights.
I may investigate the feasibility of dimming the meter light through modification because I really enjoy the simple operation and superior performance of the Richard in other aspects. I ordered a piece of thin red plexiglass, and may try to fabricate a removable lens to place over the meter at night.
Cons: The meter is not particularly accurate and is a bit sluggish. It is not dimmable, and is a bit bright for night driving.
The SWR function is far from accurate, and should not be relied on. I had a short Tram whip that was incompatible with my pickup and mount giving me moderately high SWR on a different radio and separate SWR meter. The Richard showed that antenna as being just fine. I would hope it would indicate a catastrophic antenna system failure, but I can't be sure.
I am getting good performance from the Richard with a K30 magnet mount, though I want to use my fixed fender mount, which seems compatible only with 4' fiberglass antennas.
In spite of the meter shortcomings, I recommend the radio highly, along with Walcott's tremendous service.

Great radio
Good radio small in size great options really like it had it for a couple months now currently hooked up to two Wilson 1000 antennas on an SWR 1.0 across all channels I would buy another one
